Adam Scantlebury is a Music Technologist involved in all areas of music production. His specialities lie in composition and post-production for film and television, although he also has experience in Sound Design, recording and live engineering.
After graduating from Staffordshire University in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) Creative Music Technology degree, Adam is now based in Peterborough. He is currently freelancing on different projects, particularly in post-production for short films.
Much of his experience is in this area, working with aspiring producers and directors, although Adam does have some experience in sound engineering for live stage productions and more recently for live television broadcasts.
Whilst looking to gain more experience and get involved with more clients, Adam has already had the pleasure of working alongside film producers/directors Maia Krall Fry, Ash Mahmood, Luke Stazaker and Gareth D'Arcy, and fellow musicians Alan Pring, Nick Clarke and Ed Sunman.

10th June: Project Completed. Completed the 9-minute soundtrack for a Fashion Show by Libertinesque, held at Club Rub in London. The original music used could not be used as an internet advert due to copyright, so I have reworked the soundtrack to match the original timing of the original. 24th April: First live TV broadcasting work experience as a sound operator on one of Sky television's popular shows Soccer AM. This experience was vital to helping me progress in a live environment. I was responsible for assisting in the rigging of the studio, sound checking, miking the crew and anything else that the sound supervisors needed help with during the course of the weekend.
Part of the project, '24', which is viewable in the videos section. The composition incorporates both the sad emotions of the character's apparent death and the feelings of relief once he has been revived.
The main theme for 'Don't Leave Me', also available to see in the videos section. The solo piano reflects the mix of emotions the character goes through, anxiety and sadness, being the two key ones.
A piece of music composed on it's own accord. This was an experiment with a few different styles, overall creating an 'electro-pop' style track.
An ambient piece of music. This was generated as temporary backing music to a website, in which the animations were the focus of attention and the music was not to distract the viewer.
A track composed by Nick Clarke and I, as part of a live electronic music set we did. The piece was designed as an upbeat dance track to be performed live in a night club.
Another composition used in the '24' project. The piece uses minor harmonies to reflect the characters' sadness that their good friend is leaving.
Appearing at the end of the '24; project, this piece accumulates all of the feelings felt throughout the whole series (even though the clip is only the last ten minutes), as Jack, the main character leaves.
This piece was composed about a painting of a girl standing on the edge of a cliff. The picture is ambiguous, but gives the viewer a sense that the girl is lonely and that her life could be coming to an end. The composition incorporates these emotions.
One of the tracks used in the video, 'Under Surveillance', in which two of the female characters are talking about the hope of finding love. The music attempts to reflect this hope whilst being 'easy-listening', and calm compared to the outcome of the characters within the video.
As the opening sequence to the '24' project, this piece immediately helps to create the tension between the characters and the situation without giving away any clues as to what may develop.
This sequence from the '24' project, represents the importance of the president. The fan-fare like nature of the piece is similar to that if a National Anthem for example.
This short piece is designed as a method of helping someone sleep. It is relaxing and calming and sounds similar to the melody of children's cot toys.
Another section from the '24' project. The music pieces together three scenes of the video, from Audrey finding out about Jack's supposed death, through a split screen break point in the video, to the three characters escaping in the car.
This music, from the 'Under Surveillance' project links between the characters talking about their everydays and the sense of danger implied by the house they are planning on entering.
This is the main theme from the project. The high-tempo and fast-rhythms of the piece create tension and danger and indicate that the characters are being watched.
Another track composed by myself and Nick Clarke used as part of the live electronic dance set we performed. This was the thrid of the tracks we played and was the most upbeat and catchy of them all
